DESCRIPTION:Empowering Creative Futures with AI in Art and Culture\nA project by Node Media Lab\n\nAI (Artificial Intelligence) Education Program\nEmpowering Creative Futures with AI in Art and Culture is a six-week education program that introduces and explores the growing intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and the arts. It is tailored for diverse participants, including designers, artists, curators, writers, mediators, and employees in arts and cultural institutions, and provides theoretical knowledge and practical skills for integrating AI into creative and artistic practices.\n‘Module 2: AI Tools for Creative Practices’ will be hosted in SOHO Studios, 1160 Vienna, on the 17th of April and the 28th of April\n17 April 2025\nPractical Workshop: AI Tools for Creative Practices – XR & AI Interactive Agents\nTime: 15.00-18.00\nThis hands-on workshop focuses on integrating AI and extended realities (XR), specifically emphasizing interactive agents in Unity. Participants will learn how to incorporate Large Language Models (LLMs) to create dynamic dialogues with avatars in XR environments. Through guided experimentation and collaboration, attendees will develop a small, AI-driven interactive project.\nDesigned for artists and creatives, the workshop combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, providing an in-depth exploration of AI’s expanding role in digital art and interactive media. No prior coding experience is required—only curiosity and a willingness to explore new creative possibilities. Please bring your laptop. Information on downloading and installing the necessary software will follow after registration for the workshop.\nInstructor: Dagmar Schürrer  (Austrian digital artist based in Berlin)\n\n28 April 2025\nLecture & Talk: Creativity in the Age of Algorithms\nTime: 16.00-18.00\nAs artificial intelligence reshapes the creative landscape, artists and designers increasingly engage with AI as a collaborator rather than just a tool. This session explores how AI-powered deep learning systems—from generative adversarial networks (GANs) to diffusion models, LLMs and more—transform visual arts, design, and institutional practices.\nWe will provide an overview of accessible AI tools that support artists in conceptualizing, generating, and refining their work and examine the mechanics behind these technologies.
